If you have implemented Salesforce.com within your organization you have likely discovered one of the key challenges, ensuring that complete information about your customers and leads is being captured. In most customer or lead encounters it's simply rude to be entering data on a laptop computer in front of them - so most information ends up being handwritten, for later entry at the end of the day.

The biggest problem is that later data entry on a PC is an extra burden for the busy salesperson. Some will be diligent and enter all the day's information and notes, but more often than not enthusiasm at the keyboard quickly wears off and information capture becomes more and more tardy and incomplete. At worst your CRM data is too brief to be useable or even non-existent.

Imagine then, if you could gather all the information you need in real time, in front of the customer, using your favorite tried and trusted method - pen and paper. Salespen provides a unique solution that uses a new technology called Digital Pen and Paper. The Digital Pen looks and feels like a regular pen with a ballpoint nib, but in its body is a camera that records all the strokes made by the nib. Using forms printed on regular paper on a laser printer with a special "pattern" behind the form, the pen is able to record the entire form filling process and store the information in its memory.

The pen also contains technology that allows it to upload its recorded data to your Salesforce.com account, via our Salespen service. This data is collected either by docking the pen in a cradle connected to an internet connected computer, or it can use its Bluetooth capability to send the data via a bluetooth enabled cellphone.

Finally, because each form has a unique pattern on it, the pen and our system know exactly which form data has been entered on. This means that if other forms are subsequently entered, the user may go back and add notes or make changes without confusing the system. This feature, called "Unique Pattern" is one you won't find in other digital pen solutions.
