Penterprise uses Forms Automations System (FAS) because it allows us to deply our solutions immediately, without lengthy coding and integration projects.   FAS brings several features together in a ready to deploy format including, on-demand printing, quick and easy form design, embedded security, full audit traceability, and a variety of data outputs to accomodate business needs.

More about FAS...

FAS forms are printed on-demand on ordinary paper on laserjet printers. They can be pre-filled with back office information to speed and simplify data entry. On-demand printing eliminates the cost of wasted forms when content or layout change is needed.

FAS digital paper is printed with a near invisible dot pattern that enables the pen’s camera to capture every penstroke the user makes. Each penstroke is time and date stamped for traceability. Pens can store up to 200 standard letter pages.

Penstroke data is uploaded to a FAS Server via a USB connection to a PC or, in mobile applications, by a bluetooth connection and cellphone. It is then processed to produce:

  • A precise image of the original page
  • A file for onward transmission to back office applications

The file is generated by using handwriting recognition (HWR) to examine the raw penstroke data, giving excellent first pass accuracy.T

The handwriting recognition process is enhanced by using lexicons and application specific business rules. The file can be validated using the FAS Enterprise Portal which enables easy comparison of the original form image and its machine readable equivalent.

The validated file is then available for:

  • Transfer to the back office application, using an XML schema

  • Production of an email message
  • Production of an SMS message
  • Production of a Word document
  • and other functions...

On completion of the upload, processing and transfer processes FAS stores, for every form:

  • The original penstroke data with time and date stamps
  • A precise image of the original form
  • The electronic file produced after HWR and validation
  • The XML, email, SMS or Word files transmitted onwards
